Sound It Up provides audio, video, lighting and decor production for events across Jamaica. This policy explains how we handle personal information shared with us through this website, by email, and at the events we produce. We follow the Data Protection Act, 2020 of Jamaica.
Who we are
Sound It Up is based in Kingston, Jamaica. For any question about this policy or your information, email info@sounditupja.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- Enquiries. When you use the quote form, it opens your own email app with your name, email address, phone number, event date, event type, venue and message filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and your details reach us as an ordinary email.
- Emails, calls and messages. Anything you send us directly, for example through email, phone, WhatsApp or Instagram.
- Booking details. If you book us, the information needed to plan and deliver your event, such as contact people, venue details, schedules and billing information.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To plan, deliver and follow up on your event.
- To keep proper business and accounting records.
We do not sell your information, and we will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to join one.
Who we share it with
Only when it is needed to serve you:
- With our sister company Serve It Up, if you ask for catering as well.
- With your venue or other suppliers on your event, where they need details to work with us.
- With the companies that host our website and email, who process it on our behalf.
- Where the law requires us to.
Cookies and this website
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not ask you to create an account. Like every website, our hosting and security providers handle technical information such as your IP address and browser type so pages load and the site stays protected. We may also look at simple visit counts that do not identify you.
Live streams and YouTube
Our live streams are hosted on our YouTube channel. The player on this site uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and only loads when you press play. Once it plays, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Links to YouTube, Instagram and other websites are covered by those sites' policies, not this one.
Photos and video at our events
We photograph and film the setups we build, and some events are streamed live in public. We may use this footage on our website and social media to show our work. If you appear in something we have published and would like it removed, email us and we will take it down.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. We keep booking and payment records for as long as the law and our accounts require. After that, we delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Stop using or delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop contacting you with offers or news.
Email info@sounditupja.com and we will respond as soon as we can. If you are not happy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner in Jamaica.
Keeping it safe
This site is served over a secure connection, and we limit access to your information to the people who need it to work on your event.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning events. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
